PROVO — Four years of significant playing experience certainly speaks loudly to any player’s abilities, and that’s what BYU has this season with Masen Wake. The 6-foot-2, 260 pound Lone Peak High School product will be looked at to contribute at both the tight end and fullback positions again this coming season while looking to hurdle over would-be tacklers.

“Anyone who plays a significant role as a freshman is typically someone you can count on making an impact going forward, and that’s exactly what we’ve had with Masen,” said Ben Criddle, host of Cougar Sports with Ben Criddle on ESPN960. “Masen is physical, athletic and has great hands. You never know how to take him on in the open field, and if he’s put in the work then he’ll make a big impact on this year’s team.”

Wake provides a unique dynamic to BYU’s offense given his versatility in lining up at either tight end or at fullback. He saw a bit of a dip in production last season, but will look to finish out strong in his final season at BYU.
