It’s always hard to rank a punter due to the nature of the position, but any top player list with Ryan Rehkow not on it wouldn’t be prudent. The 6-foot-5 235 pound junior has made a stellar collegiate career for himself, averaging 46.8 yards per punt while placing 48 of his career 108 punts inside the 20 yard-line. He’ll likely prove a good weapon for the Cougars in 2023 in working to enhance the vital field position game against top Big12 competition.

“I feel like he’s one of the most talented punters BYU has ever had, but he hasn’t really been utilized much because of BYU’s aggressive nature on fourth down,” said Ben Criddle, host of Cougar Sports with Ben Criddle on ESPN960. “The fact that he’s encroaching on the record for yardage on punts — that’s extremely impressive. I think he’ll punt more this year, given the nature of Big12 Conference play, which is both good and bad.”
