PROVO — Atunaisa Mahe enters his final season at BYU as a proven playmaker along the defensive front who and elevate defensive production considerably when healthy. The 6-foot-1, 315 pound West Jordan product has unfortunately battled injuries throughout his BYU football career, but hopes for a relatively clean bill of health to finish out this season.

“His low center of gravity combined with his quick-twitch muscle fibers allow him to wreak havoc,” said Ben Criddle, host of Cougar Sports with Ben Criddle on ESPN960. “It almost creates a wedge between the offensive line whenever he shoots the gap because he’s so powerful. He’s a unique player that when healthy can disrupt a lot along the line of scrimmage.”
