Warner back to All-Pro form: BYU Football Pro Tracker, Week 8

Fred Warner appears to be back to his All-Pro form as he recorded eight tackles and a pass defended in San Francisco’s 33-22 victory over the Bears in NFL week 8 action.  Warner is currently no. 16 in the league for total tackles.

Several other former Cougs also made an impact for their teams this past weekend. Khyiris Tonga (NT, Chicago) had his first tackle for loss of the season, Dax Milne (WR, Washington) had a 22 yard reception, Sione Takitaki (LB, Cleveland) had three solo tackles, and KVN (LB, New England) had two solo tackles.

Unfortunately, Injuries led to several former Cougs being inactive for week 8, including starters Taysom Hill, Harvey Langi, Jamaal Williams, and Zach Wilson.

Regarding Wilson, the Jets made an interesting mid-season move by hiring his personal coach—former BYU QB John Beck.  The Jets haven’t formally announced the hire, but Beck was wearing team apparel and a headset on the sideline during the Jet’s 34-31 victory over Cincinnati.

For week 8 there were just two former Cougs that got starts for their NFL teams (Warner and Davis), with another six coming off the bench, five injured, and two having byes.  Six remain on practice squads.  Below you get the snap counts and statistics for each active player.
