Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman attributed his teams 38-31 loss to the pressure that BYU brought on Saturday. In his postgame press conference Pittman acknowledged the pass rush from BYU was the reason the Razorbacks had a hard time closing out the game stating “The pressure BYU brought was the difference in the game.”
BYU’s defense combined for 4 sacks and 6 TFL’s in Fayetteville on Saturday night. If you look at the game that took place in Provo just a season ago, a game that BYU lost 52-35, the Cougars failed to get any pressure on KJ Jefferson resulting in 0 sacks, 1 TFL and 5 total touchdowns for the 6-3 247lb QB.
Through the first three games in 2023, BYU has shown the ability to be multiple on defense and pin its ears back to get after opposing QB’s in pivotal situations late in games.
