BYU state of the program news and notes

Get caught up with quotes and news from BYU’s state of the program.

With BYU being an independent, that means its media day for football is an event the school puts on to pump up the program and get people excited. News gathered from the event may not be mind blowing, but in reality it means football is only getting closer.

Media went exactly as planned with a lack of announcements but the school more than made up for that up by pumping up the BYU football program to show of to the college football world on how good the Cougars are, which they have the potential to be.

Scheduling announcements are the norm and Tom Holmoe did release one game, and that is a scheduled home-and-home against Toledo, starting in the 2016 season. The Cougars will host Toledo on Friday Sept. 30, 2016 and BYU return the trip on Sept. 28, 2019. That was the one announcement.

BYU now has 11 games scheduled for next year, so there will be one more added in the near future.

As for other games, Holmoe did mention that there are other games in the pipeline but ESPN would not allow them to make that announcement. So, look for more games to come out, possibly this summer, about future BYU opponents.

Below are some quotes from BYU’s state of the program.
