Utah Valley moves past Tarleton to advance to WAC Semifinals

LAS VEGAS – Justin Harmon led the way with 23 points for Utah Valley as they defeated Tarleton 72-58 in a WAC tournament quarterfinal matchup Thursday night. Trey Woodbury added 21 points and 7 rebounds for the Wolverines and Aziz Bandaogo got it done on both ends of the floor adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks while anchoring the middle for UVU.

Utah Valley will now move on to face in-state foe Southern Utah in the second semifinal game on Friday night at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas with tip off just after 8pm PT. The winner will move on to the WAC final to face either top seeded Sam Houston State or Grand Canyon on Saturday.

Utah Valley and SUU have met twice so far this season with the series being split 1-1. SUU won the first matchup between the two sides in Cedar City 79-67. The Wolverines got revenge at the UCCU center back on Feb. 11 when they won 90-83 behind Le’Tre Darthards 31 points. Friday nights game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, ESPN 960 AM & 92.1FM in Salt Lake County.
