Jakob Robinson wasn’t the most heralded addition to the Cougar roster back in 2021, but has since risen to become a an essential part of the defense and one of the unit’s top playmakers. The 5-foot-11, 170 pound Orem product has excelled primarily at slot corner, but also at both boundary and field cornerback and will likely be asked to fulfill several roles again this season.

“There are few proven playmakers on this BYU defense, and Jakob Robinson is one of them,” said Ben Criddle, host of Cougar Sports with Ben Criddle on ESPN960. “He can play many different positions and is arguably the most versatile defensive back BYU has, along with Eddie Heckard. There’s many who believe he can develop into a true NFL talent.”
