It’s not yet been determined exactly where Connor Pay will play this season, but that’s not to suggest he won’t again play a big role along the Cougar’s offensive front. The 6-foot-5, 313 pound junior has anchored the offense from the center position for the past two seasons, but could be employed at the right guard spot this season due to the Cougars adding the services of Paul Maile. But as mentioned, regardless of where he ultimately takes reps, Pay will play a big role in the offense’s overall success this season.

“Connor is probably one of the smartest offensive linemen to come through BYU over the past 20 years,” said Ben Criddle, host of Cougar Sports on ESPN960. “There’s a reason why he’s been playing center and why he’s excelled at it. He’s a leader both vocally and with the example he sets, and you expect him to again be central in helping provide the type of cohesiveness required in making an offensive line effective.”
