A Cougars’ Look Inside a NFL Tryout: Ross Apo

It’s no secret that the BYU Cougars were overlooked in April’s NFL Draft Day. Just because it’s no secret, however, doesn’t make it any less surprising.

Despite a college career riddled with various injuries, Ross Apo didn’t neglect to turn heads as a talented receiver both while on the field for the Cougars and for Pro Day. While a Cougar, Apo had a total of 981 receiving yards and 13 career touchdown receptions.

After Pro Day – with a 4.56 40 yard dash, a vertical jump at 36.5 inches and a broad jump at 11’02” – he was ranked in the top third of receivers by the NFL Draft Scout.

Although Apo did not hear his name called on Draft Day, he did receive an invitation to the Seattle Seahawks Rookie Minicamp.

Kicking off this weekend, Apo took a few moments to snap some photos–including one with Russell Wilson–prior to taking the field.
