Starting QBs, hurdling, and Interceptions highlight Week 13: BYU Football Pro Tracker

Overall, it was a really good week for BYU alumni in the NFL.  Taysom Hill and Zach Wilson both got the nod at starting quarterback and played well despite losses.  Sorensen and Davis each had picks in their games, and Jamaal Williams and Khyiris Tonga both had big games.

Zach Wilson played admirably in his first game back since injury.  He went 23-for-38 passing for 227 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in defeat.  He also rushed three times for 0 yards and a score.  The game was a positive step in the right direction with Wilson, who threw touchdown passes on each of the first two drives.

Meanwhile, Taysom Hill got his first start this season at quarterback, despite still not being 100% since his injury.  To make matters worse, early in the game he injured a finger on this throwing hand.  That finger had to be splintered for use throughout the game and clearly affected his throwing game.

Hill went 6-for-7 pre hand injury, but finished the game just 19-of-41 passing for 264 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. The difficult throwing situation probably inspired more running, and Hill finished with a season high 11 carries for 101 yards (9.2 avg), including one that had him hurdling another Texas football player.

“Dirty Dan” Sorensen made the highlight reel for the week with a 75 yard pick six that put the game away for Kansas City.

And Michael Davis had an interception of his own to go along with two solo tackles.

In total there were five former Cougs that got starts for their NFL teams (Davis, Hill, Van Noy, Jamaal Williams, and Wilson), with another four coming off the bench, two out with injuries, two healthy scratches, two byes, and seven on practice squads.  Below you get the snap counts and statistics for each active player.
