BYU football Prep Tracker 2022: Week 2

Here’s how the 17 commits to BYU football did this weekend in prep football:

Utah Prep Football

Top Performers during week two include:

  • Class of 2024 commit Easton Baker had a big night for Stansbury.  The junior linebacker had 10 tackles (five solo), four tackles for loss, and a strip sack that his teammate ran in for a TD.
  • Linebacker Owen Borg of Corner Canyon had 10 tackles in the loss to no. 6 nationally ranked Bishop Gorman.
  • Springville had another dominating win (over Skyline 45-17).  Starting quarterback and BYU commit Ryder Burton had a great game completing 10-of-18 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while defensive lineman and BYU commit Dallin Johnson had five tackles, one tackle for loss and two pass breakups.
  • One the other side of that game Miles Hall (of Skyline) had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown, to go with nine tackles (three solo).

  • Easton Baker (LB, Class of 2024). Stansbury (Utah 5A, 2-0) defeated Ridgeline 43-20. Baker had 10 tackles (five solo), four tackles for loss, and one strip sack.
  • Owen Borg (LB, Class of 2023). Corner Canyon (Utah 6A, 1-1) fell to Bishop Gorman in Vegas 42-7.  Borg had 10 tackles (seven solo) to lead the defense.
  • Ryder Burton (QB, Class of 2023). Springville (Utah 4A, 2-0) defeated Skyline 45-17.  Burton complete 10-of-18 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns ton one interception. He also rushed five times for three yards
  • Dallin Johnson (DT, Class of 2024). Springville (Utah 4A, 2-0) defeated Skyline 45-17.  Johnson had three pancakes, five tackles, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.
  • Matthew Fredrick (TE/DE, Class of 2023). East (Utah 5A, 0-2) fell to Skyridge 42-0. Fredrick’s stats are not yet available.
  • Miles Hall (ATH, Class of 2023). Skyline (Utah 5A, 1-1) fell to Springville 45-17. Hall had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown and nine tackles (three solo).
  • Pokai Haunga (WR, Class of 2023). Timpview (Utah 5A, 2-0) defeated Herriman 43-14. Haunga had two tackles.
  • Stanley Raass (DL, Class of 2023). Skyridge (Utah 6A, 2-0) defeated East 42-0. Raass’s stats are not yet available.
  • Adney Reid (ATH, Class of 2024). Reid competed for Spanish Fork (Utah 5A) as a Freshman but is currently living in Australia where his parents are serving as mission president. He is not playing American football currently.
  • Will Walker (K/P, Class of 2025). Riverton (Utah 6A, 1-1) fell to Dixie 17-13. Walker was injured in the preseason and will be out for another 2-3 weeks.

The Other Commits

Prep football has not yet started for commits in Arizona (TE Jackson Bowers and LB Pierson Watson), Texas (Landen Chambers and ATH Saimone Davis), Washington (ATH Leo Pulalasi), and Oklahoma (DL Andrew Heinig).
