BYU beats Gonzaga for the second time at Spokane

Nate Austin

BYU got a much needed win as they upset No. 25 Gonzaga on the road for the second time in as many games.

BYU won for the second consecutive time at Gonzaga, this time 69 to 68, and they are the only team to win in the previous 47 games in Spokane. The Cougars trailed for most of the night, and ere down by as many as 13 points. The team slowly got back into this game and Nick Emery’s lone bucket of the night was a three-pointer with 98 seconds left in the game gave BYU the lead for good.

Nate Austin scored only four points of the night but his two blocks in the final 30 seconds are what sealed the important win for BYU, including a block on the final shot of the game.
