Harvey Langi has accepted an invitation to play in the 92nd annual East-West Shrine Game on January 21st, 2017.
PROVO, UT – On December 26th, the East-West Shrine Game announced that former BYU DE/LB accepted an invitation to play in the 92nd annual bowl game for graduating seniors.
The game will be played on January 21st, 1 pm MT at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game will be broadcast on NFL Network.
Langi wrapped up his BYU career on December 21st in the Poinsettia Bowl where he earned defensive MVP honors for a 16 tackle performance. He also had one pass break up and one tackle for loss in the win. Following the game, Langi signed with an NFL agent.
Playing in a plethora of positions over his BYU career, Langi saw time at MLB, OLB, DE, and RB during the 2016 season. His versatility gives plenty of options for NFL executives as Langi transitions to the next level.
Seeing most of his playing time at defensive end, Langi recorded 57 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. Offensively, Langi saw time in the backfield in two games and carried the ball 20 times for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns.
