News and Notes:

Criddle: “Solo Kafu is my darkhorse to make it as a free agent in the NFL moving from Offensive Guard to Nose Tackle.”

Criddle: “I talked to Vic So’oto who said that he has been working out with Solo.”

Criddle: “Bronco Mendenhall is throwing out the first pitch at tonight’s BYU Baseball game.”

Criddle: “Jordan Smith has been hired as the Head Coach at Spanish Fork, he’s a former BYU guy so this will help out with recruiting.”

Criddle: “Tyler Haws was invited to a pre-draft workout with the Utah Jazz while not being invited to the NBA combine.”

How We See It:

Criddle: “Not even CBS Sports wants to broadcast their game.”

Criddle: “BYU makes more money outside of the MWC than they would inside the MWC.”

Criddle: “BYU had an 8-5 season and still made more than Boise State did even though they went to a NY6 game.”

Criddle: “Part of the reason that Zach Nyborg left is because of 1. a pay raise and 2. how hard it is to get something done at BYU.”

Criddle: “I hope that Bronco takes this season personally and goes out and lights a fire under these players to go and win some games.”

Brad Rock Interview:

Criddle: “If you’re a D1 football player and I give you the option to play Wagner and Mizzou or New Mexico and Nevada which would you choose?”

Criddle: “I would much rather play the giants and beat them.”

Criddle: “As an athlete I remember playing against Boston College and beating TCU two years in a row.”

Rock: “Maybe it’s a little more memorable if you play a goliath at the end of the season like Utah did against Alabama.”

Criddle: “Look at how Boise State does it, they schedule a huge opponent for the first game of the season and put all their energy in prepping for that game.”

Criddle: “I think some teams are coming around now with how BYU is scheduling teams to come to BYU.”

Criddle: “I like getting the guaranteed money by playing all these big time teams.”

Cougar Insider Report:

Criddle: “This is a very angry cougar insider report.”

Criddle: “I’m talking very fast because I’m very nervous and upset about this news.”

Criddle: “I’m upset that Tyler wasn’t even invited with all the talent he has.”

Criddle: “Tyler will go overseas and make a lot of money and possibly receive an opportunity to come back.”

5:00 Segment:

Criddle: “Let me tell you about Walt Williams, he wasn’t 6’1″ 175 lbs he was probably 5’11” 160 lbs but very fast.”

Criddle: “Eastern Arizona College is one of the only JC’s that offers full ride scholarships.”

Criddle: “He literally showed up the day of camp, and I think he was late. He was automatically slated to be one of the starting corners.”

Criddle: “We had this three man rotation with Walt, DeAndre, and me.”

Criddle: “Walt Williams had one interception on the season and one punt return that he took it to the house.”

Criddle: “Because of that one play he ended up getting one offer, to BYU, even though he was a 5* recruit he got one offer.”

Criddle: “In High School I wanted to be a little bit wild, but going into JC I wanted to set a good example for these kids so I wanted to do something wild before I had to do that so I grew out my hair and got a perm.”

Criddle: “Danny Ainge is showing some support for Tom Brady.”

Criddle: “How does it feel that mouthpiece is contributing on one of the best teams in the NBA while Jimmer is getting DNP’s.”

Criddle: “I called for something to be fixed about the S&C program since I left the program and they finally fixed it.”

Robbie Bullough Interview:

Bullough: “The middle of St. Mary’s line up absolutely ate up BYU’s pitching last night. Kolton Mahoney who’s BYU’s best pitcher was hit around pretty well.”

Bullough: “Bronco could throw the ball 100 mph but if he isn’t close to the strike zone then it’s a problem.”

Bullough: “Adam Miller may be the best pro prospect on his team. He’s throwing now as a closer and now has 4 saves on the season.”

Bullough: “He hasn’t given up a run over his last 7 appearances.”

Random Thoughts:

Criddle: “Spencer Hadley reached out to me after I tweeted a picture of Rob Daniel saying that they are out there grinding.”

Criddle: “Will Bronco Mendenhall throw heat when he throws the first pitch or will he throw like an old man?”

Criddle: “I remember when we were doing the run to the Y and I was doing pretty good, in the front third of the pack and I heard a pitter patter of feet coming up behind me and I see Bronco closing in so I sprinted the last 200 yds and beat him there.”

Criddle: “A lot of guys have said that Devin Mahina may be the best guy to stick in the league.”
